Animal mascots have a special place in the U.S. Coast Guard. This one has been elevated to the pilothouse of a patrol boat from the doghouse.

A seadog's best friend in blue. A crew from
Coast Guard Station Galveston located an overdue boater and canine near Texas City, Texas, on Oct. 11, 2021. A family member notified the Coast Guard of the overdue craft. Always leave a float plan with family or friends, the maritime mutt says. Bark about it.
